Although the film was completed long before the festival, the creators were not sent to other film competitions to match the exclusive status of the show in Cannes. Due to the achieved success, the filmmakers began preparing to continue shooting short films.

the Shooting of "Departure" was held in Los Angeles, Paris and Belarus. From shooting equipment Directors took the iPhone 4s and the app FiLMiC Pro. In a similar gesture, the authors wanted to demonstrate the full movie shooting is possible with the help of publicly available technology.
