Skype opened the browser-based version for all countries

Microsoft made available worldwide browser based version of Skype that works without installing the application client. The web version of messenger is available at web.skype.com. Earlier web version of the program was only available in the USA and the UK.

the Developers report that this is a beta version, but to participate in the testing of all students. Browser version supports nearly 30 languages, including Russian.
 
Through the browser available messages, and voice and video calls (though to call, you must install an optional extension). Also the web version works on mobile devices.

Windows users, the program will run in browsers Internet Explorer 10 and later versions, and the latest versions of Chrome and Firefox. On Mac OS the program starts only in Safari 6 and later versions.
 
Function calls to mobiles and landlines in Skype for browser is not supported, the developers claim that it will be available later.
