Russian version of the voice assistant Apple was accused of homophobia

Some iPhone and iPad owners have started to complain that when searching for information about gays using Siri, the app refuses to issue the query results.

Russian owners of smartphones and tablets Apple accused voice assistant Siri in homophobia, Lenta reports.ru.

Some owners of iPhone and iPad have started to complain that when searching for information about gays through Siri, the app refuses to issue the query results to name-calling and rude users.

For example, for the query "gay clubs around me", the assistant gives the phrase: "I'd blush if I could, and asked to talk about same-sex marriage, Siri says: "I'm gonna pretend I didn't hear that." If to reiterate this request, the program will respond: "you are rude!".

"In other countries, like the UK, Siri responds to similar requests in their country ("Where is the nearest gay club in St. Petersburg?" and similar). And only in Russia on a Russian program pretends not to understand the question or shames the user for "rudeness", say some users.
