The activity of BSOD growing since the beginning of 2015. Attackers disguise it under WhatsApp and distributed through unofficial stores mobile applications.

After download first the apk file WhatsApp with fake malicious program prompts the user to pay a fee for using the app. After completing your payment, it starts to download the second apk that contains extra packages. Then Trojan proceeds to install the operating system and asks for administrator permissions, including the permission to send SMS.

TrojanSMS.Agent.ZS devastates the mobile account of the user, carrying out unauthorized sending SMS messages to premium numbers. In addition, the malware can make calls and send to the remote server information about the device and the system.

ESET recommends that you install popular apps only from official sites and protect smartphones and tablets based on Android current antivirus software.
