In Belarus in 2016, want to impose standards on Internet service

In mid-2016 in Belarus may be imposed standard for Internet services. This was announced by Chairman of the State Committee for standardization of Belarus Viktor Nazarenko, BelTA reports. He said that such standards establish technical requirements to ensure continuity of Internet services — i.e. the services should be of high quality.

Speaking about the timing of the introduction of the national standard, Nazarenko said: "As a rule, since the development and approval stage, enterprises are given about six months to adopt the organizational arrangements for the implementation of the new standard. Therefore, most likely, it will be put into effect from the middle of next year".

"It is rather a technical features and not the issue of transparency of the Internet activities, because such a standard it cannot be done", — said Viktor Nazarenko. According to him, the development of appropriate standards is engaged JSC consists subordinated to the Ministry of communications.
