As noted by Google to combat poorly performing scrolling and touch functionality to Chrome it is planned to begin supporting Pointer Events - standard, which was submitted to Microsoft for its Internet Explorer browser. Initially Google was preferred to the standard Touch Events, which Apple uses in its Safari browser, but the positive reviews in the web community about browsers, Microsoft, Mozilla and Opera adapted with Pointer Events made the Internet giant to change its point of view.

Google promises that using Pointer Events should significantly improve the work of the Chrome browser on devices with touch interface (mainly on Android). In particular, Google promises improved scrolling of pages and their interaction with the touch-elements.
