Google will soon change the algorithm of compression in the Chrome browser. Replaced Zopfli three years ago will come Brotli, which promises to compress files on a quarter more efficient predecessor, reports Engadget. Primarily this will be useful for owners of mobile devices with a browser from Google.

Brotli compression compresses the data on 20-26% more efficient. According to Google, the new algorithm is a "brand new format" data that compresses more data than other formats at comparable speeds unpacking. The smaller size of the compressed file allows better use of memory and faster to load pages.

Google stressed that it will have a positive impact on the users of mobile devices: they will have to pay less for the traffic and the smartphone will have to spend less battery life for surfing the Internet. The new algorithm is likely to be integrated in the next version of the browser Chrome.
