Sony has set a date for the premiere of the animated film The Emoji Movie: the movie will be released in August 2017. For the right to film the script Sony has laid out a million dollars, beating the auction of Warner Bros. and Paramount. However, for the right to use the emoticons don't have to pay, so nothing prevents to produce its own films and other studios.

Director and co-writer will perform Anthony Leondis (short film "Kung Fu Panda: Secrets of the masters", cartoon "Igor"), reports ComingSoon. At the moment it is unknown exactly how would look the characters and what they are doing on the screen.

Emoji gained widespread popularity in Japan, where subsequently spread worldwide and become an integral part instant messengers and social networks. Originally the emojis looked like the language of pictograms, but later acquired graphic design.
