In Belarus on maps of mobile coverage there are still "white spots" that need to be eliminated. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Anatoly Kalinin. According to him, Telecom operators are faced with the challenge to resolve this and some other shortcomings.

"it Should be noted that there are still "white spots" on the maps of mobile coverage. And, unfortunately, sometimes faults occur on main roads, and even in larger rural towns. The task is to eliminate these disadvantages in the course of the year", — BelTA quotes Anatoly Kalinin.

He added that cellular phones cover 98% of the country, where almost the entire population of the country. As noted by the Deputy Prime Minister, the ICT development index, Belarus ranks 38th place out of 166 countries in the world, surpassing Russia, Kazakhstan and other CIS countries.

According to Anatoly Kalinin, Belarus in may painlessly for the population completed the transition from analogue to digital TV broadcasting. He also noted that the homestretch commercial project on creation of the Belarusian communication satellite. Its launch is scheduled for late 2015 — early 2016. "This will allow not only to consolidate the image of our country as a space power, but also to ensure at the global level, the growth of exports of high-tech communication services", — said the official.
