Adidas Company intends to reduce labour costs and to start production of sports shoes closer to the main markets. Currently sewing sneakers are about one million workers in factories located primarily in China and Vietnam. according to the company, robotic factory will allow to decentralize the process and make it more flexible. And, as mentioned above, the production will be in close proximity from consumers of Adidas. Notes that Nike is also investing in such production, however, as soon will be launching is unknown.

Adidas intend to create a large network of robotic factories around the world and gradually increase the volumes of production. The company does not intend to change partners-suppliers of raw materials. At the start, the factory will be serviced by a team of 10 people, but the company's goal to fully automate the process.

currently Adidas manufactures annually around 600 million pairs of shoes, garments and accessories, and by 2020 it plans to increase the volume in half.
