Huawei has unveiled a prototype battery for mobile devices, which is able to compensate half charge in five minutes. It uses the same technology as that used in today's lithium-ion batteries, the same charging speed is increased by using atoms of the graphite in the anode of the element.

according to the company, the charging rate does not affect the battery capacity or the term of its operation — it remains the same. One of the prototypes has a capacity of 3000 mAh, the second is of 600 mAh. Less capacious battery fills the battery to 68% in two minutes, reports PC World. Batteries have been tested and are not sample copies that fail after showing their capabilities.

Huawei have yet to release information on how soon may begin commercial use of new batteries.
