In the first quarter of 2015, the vast majority of profits in the smartphone industry went to Apple. GSMArena citing The Wall Street Journal reports that the company from Cupertino had 92% of all profits for the first three months of 2015. Although the number of smartphones sold by Apple occupies only the fifth place.

Samsung was in second place with 15% of all profits. Thus, the giants of the mobile industry gathered more than 100% profit. The reason is that most of the other smartphone manufacturers, which in the world there are about 1000, worked at a loss. Profits Apple last but not least was attributed to the high average price in iPhone — 659 dollars. It is 185 dollars more than the average cost of an Android smartphone. Though The Wall Street Journal and did not consider the income of private sector companies such as Xiaomi and Micromax, they are unable to seriously affect the final result of the industry.
