Apple gets the bulk share of the profits in the industry, producing only 14.5 percent of all smartphones in the world. The company's share increased from 85% in the third quarter of last year to 94% this, AppleInsider reports. And closest pursuer in the face of Samsung boasts only 11% of all profits.

In the sum of these figures exceeds 100% because most of the other smartphone manufacturers experienced negative operating income — the difference between revenue and operating expenses. Analysts attribute this to the fact that manufacturers can't compete with Apple and Samsung in the price range of 400 dollars.

In the third quarter, Apple managed to increase their share of the profits, although the company issued a total of 48 million iPhones. While the South Korean smartphone came out almost two times more — 81 million, or 24.5% of the total market. The average price for Apple was $670, Samsung — $180.
