Famous Finnish company Nokia today celebrates its 150th anniversary. The company was founded on may 12, 1865, and since then has repeatedly changed its specialization.

Initially the company was engaged in manufacture of paper and its present name was given in 1871 - Nokia Ab. In 1902 another activity Nokia Ab was power generation.

In 1922, after the merger with Finnish Rubber Works and Finnish Cable Works, Nokia Ab began to produce rubber products (now known to motorists Nokian), cables and electronics. Later in the sphere of interests of Nokia Ab got a hunting rifle, plastics and chemical materials.

In the 1980s, Nokia Ab began to develop actively the development and production of electronics. By 1987 the company's main business is becoming a consumer electronics company became the third largest TV manufacturer in Europe.

But we know a Finnish company for rubber products and televisions, and mobile phones and smartphones. Once Nokia was the leader on that and on other markets, but for various reasons have lost the competitive advantage and then it sold its mobile division to Microsoft for 7,18 billion.
