Russian scientists have planned an unusual experiment in space they want to transfer power from ISS to the transport vehicle by means of a laser beam. In this case, the transmission distance will be about 1.5 km, according to "Izvestia". Similar technology was tested in terrestrial conditions.

Experiments by specialists of RSC Energia. According to the representative of the Corporation, in the laboratories of Russia managed to build receivers-converters with an efficiency of about 60%. The company prepared track length of 1.5 km, where the experimental energy is then passed through a laser infrared radiation. Experts believe that the efficiency of wireless power transmission can be increased up to 30% with the use of modern achievements.

In the future this technology will contribute to the development of outer space: the refueling of vehicles will be at a considerable distance.
