they Say that the eyes are the mirror of the soul. But the sides usually do not look in the mirror long and deeply. Italian scientists from the University of Urbino decided to check out what people see in 10 minutes of continuous eye contact. And the result surprised many: the subjects experienced visual hallucinations and a state of dissociation.

the Last is a special mental process in which a person perceives what is happening so if it does not happen with him, loses touch with reality. In this case, the subjects observed reduction in the intensity of the colors, felt the change in the volume of the sounds and slow time. During the experiment, 20 people broke into pairs and seated opposite each other. Within 10 minutes they were fixated to his companion in the eye. Upon completion of the experiment, the participants were given a questionnaire.

90% of subjects observed the deformation of facial features of his comrades, 75% claimed that they saw a monster in front of him, half of the participants noticed the features of his face on the face of the partner. Scientists suggest that visual hallucinations of subjects could be caused by a condition of sensory deprivation, which triggers unconscious psychodynamic projection on the face. This is only the initial stage of the research, the Italians intend to continue to study the phenomenon further.
