British science continues to move mankind into the future. British scientists have found that clean shaven medics a chance to be subjected to the attack of bacteria is three times higher than their colleagues with a beard. And the culprit microtrauma, which remain after shaving on the face, reports Mashable. They may take a fancy to dangerous bacteria that cause sepsis and pneumonia.

the results of the study, which was conducted three years ago in two London hospitals, were published only now. In experiments scientists took part 408 health workers, sampled the microflora of the face. the "Research has shown that the beard on the face does not increase the overall risk of bacterial colonization, — it is told in research. — But on the contrary, clean-shaven men a higher rate of colonization of persons by bacteria".

Accompanying the study in which the samples were grown beards germs "bacteria that kills". Scientists suggest that the vegetation on his face has some antiseptic property.
