American scientists ranked the most dangerous drugs by comparing the amount of lethal dose to that which uses addict on average, reports The Verge, citing Scientific Reports. The researchers found that the lowest risk is borne by the marijuana, leadership as expected was for heroin.

In the list referred to cocaine, tobacco, ecstasy, methamphetamine, alcohol, and marijuana. The authors of the study believe that the authorities should pay less attention to consuming marijuana and to persecute smokers and drinkers.

Scientists believe that their findings indicate the need for gradual legalization of the drug in the United States. It is worth noting that in some States, marijuana is allowed for medical purposes (on the eve in the state of new York approved the sale of kosher marijuana Orthodox Jews in medicine), but Federal laws it is a banned substance.

Scientists emphasize that moderate consumption of alcohol cannot be compared with the use of, for example, heroin. The aim of the researchers was exclusively the study of severity, which are certain drugs.
