Scientists have created stretchable battery for smart watches and clothing (video)

a Team of researchers from Arizona state University have developed a battery of unusual shape, which could extend the applicability of wearable electronics. The idea of creating a "stretch" batteries, scientists have thanks kirigami — the art of making figurines and postcards of paper with scissors.

As you can see in published by the makers of the video, the battery is a linked "chain" of small batteries, which under physical pressure can be stretched to 150% its original size without any consequences for the level of charge. Such opportunities will fall by the way when creating a smart watch: if you put kirigami-the batteries in the strap, users can easily drag the device from the wrist to the forearm (say, during sports). Also stretchable batteries can be used directly in smart clothes.
