the study researchers concluded that in the distant past, this area could be a lake containing a large volume of water, because salt deposits indicate the evaporation of a liquid from a reservoir. Moreover, the water in this lake could be suitable for the existence of microorganisms, as the salinity level similar to the same indicator of the oceans on Earth.

the age of the lake is estimated to be 3.6 billion years old. Then the temperature of Mars was allowed to retain on the surface of the planet large volumes of water.
