the U.S. Coast guard did air a few shots of lake Michigan, which is clearly visible transition period of the lake from winter conditions in spring. A distinctive feature of this period is unusually clear water through which you can even see the remains of shipwrecks.

during this period, the cold waters of lake Michigan is already getting rid of Wintergrasp, but the bottom has to be covered with seaweed and filled with sediments. This year the pond has proved to be particularly clean, note that including the flight crew of the U.S. Coast guard. At the end of April at the bottom of Michigan typically seen many shipwrecks, but with so many, as of now, officers have not yet met.

the Attached pictures were taken last week during a routine patrol along the Northern coastline. Some of the ships have long been recognized (for example, at the bottom is the ship "James McBride" 1857, and "Rising Sun" in 1917), and some identification yet.

Lake Michigan is the largest of which is located entirely within the territory of the United States. Its area is about 57 750 km2 (the third largest of the Great lakes), the length is about 500 km and a width of about 190 km, depth — up to 281 m. the Pond is covered with ice for about four months a year.
