the Mission of sending the first humans on Mars may be doomed to failure, and the main reason for this lies in an unprofessional organization. This opinion about the project in an interview with the Irish Independent was expressed by one of his finalists, Joseph Roche.

According to the Irish astrophysics, the organizers of the Dutch nonprofit Mars One Foundation has serious financial problems, and they hope to obtain funds for the colonization of Mars from the candidates themselves.

"For the passage of the rounds in the selection process you have to score points, but the only way to get them is to buy goods at the Mars One program or donations" he said.

in addition, the finalists received a list of tips and advice on dealing with the press, in which participants are encouraged to 75% of the fees for the interview to sacrifice Mars One. Also Irish astrophysicist has not been responded to directly by the process of selection of candidates: they never even met in person, and the conclusion about the suitability of Joseph to participate in the selection was made after a brief interview via Skype: "All information about me, which they have collected, enclosed in a small video for self-expression; in the application, where I answered all the questions in one word... and a 10-minute interview via Skype. This is insufficient to draw a conclusion about someone".

Joseph Roche is one of 100 finalists for the Mars One project, but to colonize the red planet will be shipped only 4 winners. In order to become them, a hundred finalists will now take part in team competitions. The organizers believe that this will be the most effective method of selection of the first colonists.
