Blocks with a height of about 4.5 m buried at a depth of several meters. The time of creation of the monument dates back to around 3000 BC. Kind of arena was able to find using ground-penetrating radar. According to scientists, 30 of its stones completely intact, whereas the remaining 60 partially destroyed. Arc turned towards the river Avon, which flows nearby. Probably such a huge stone monument served as the place of performance of some sacred ritual. Between the underground facility and Stonehenge only three kilometers, which allows scientists to speculate about the connection of both monuments. After all, they were created around the same time period. Why the huge stones dug into the earth, scientists find it difficult to answer. But they suggest that in this way the authors of "underground" Stonehenge had been trying to protect their offspring. Other news in this section
