British archaeologists conducted excavations of a Roman cemetery near the ancient city walls Cirencester (Gloucestershire, England). Scientists have found 55 graves, which were wooden coffins and copper bracelets, however the most significant artifact became grave stone slab.

the Tomb is dated to the second century, when Cirencester was the second largest English city after London.

On the stove was knocked Latin inscription "D. M. BODICACIA CONIUNX VIXIT ANNO S XXVII", a rough translation of which reads: "To the spirits of the dead, Bodice, devoted wife, lived for 27 years".

the Part of archaeologists believed that the name in the epitaph was engraved with an error. The ancient Celts existed the name "Bodica", meaning "victory", while on the tomb of the master wrote "Bodicacia". Perhaps the name was deliberately distorted in order to keep the grave from vandals.
