the Englishman Tom Wagg (Tom Wagg) found a planet at a distance of thousands of light-years from our galaxy, the website Selskogo University. The teenager managed to do it after the fact, how he analyzed the data of the telescope SuperWASP.

15-year-old Tom Wagg from the English city of Newcastle-under-Lyme studied data from the SuperWASP telescope during the internship in Kidscom University. The telescope every minute gathers information about the stars Shine on the area of 450 square degrees. the

Tom noticed a slight fading of one of the stars of the southern constellation Hydra, and suggested that next to the star has a planet. To prove That indeed he found a planet, it took another two years of observations.

Now 17 years old, and his planet got room WASP-142b, because it was 142-second account that is open through a WASP. The size of the new planet is comparable to the size of Jupiter, but it is much closer to its star. A complete revolution around the star she makes just two earth days.

Distance from Earth to WASP-142b – about a thousand light years, to the naked eye it is impossible to see. The planet belongs to the class of "hot Jupiter" that are very close to their stars orbit compared with the planets of the Solar system.

Astronomers around the world have found over a thousand planets outside the Solar system, but Wagg became the youngest among has made such a discovery.
